Spain vs France European Championship 2024 Semifinal is set.
Spain, a leading contender for the European Championship 2024 title, has moved forward in their quest for the
championship by advancing to the semifinals.
Spain was placed in Group B during the group stages, a group considered the “Group of Death”
for this Euro. This group included two former European champions, Spain and Italy, along with two
other formidable opponents, Croatia and Albania.
Spain had a smooth journey through their group stages. They cleared their group with first
placement winning all three of their matches.
Spain scored a total of 5 goals in their matches against Croatia, Italy, and Albania without
conceding any.
Their first match against Croatia ended in a commanding 3-0 victory for Spain. In
their second and third matches against Italy and Albania, Spain secured narrow 1-0 wins to top
the group.
Lamine Yamal, Alvaro Morata and Ferran Torres were definitely the star players during the
group stages. Lamine Yamal, the 16-year-old, assisted Carvajal’s effort with a brilliant swinging
cross in the match against Croatia.
Following their flawless victory in the group stages, Spain faced Georgia in the round of 16,
winning decisively with a score of 4-1. Spain outclassed Georgia, with goals from Rodri, Ruiz,
Williams, and Olmo, advancing to the quarterfinals to meet the host country, Germany.
Spain defeated Germany 2-1 in the European Championship 2024 Quarterfinals, ending the host nation’s run.
After a goalless first half, Dani Olmo put Spain ahead early in the second half, but Florian Wirtz
equalized for Germany in the 89th minute.
In extra time, a disputed handball penalty was denied for Germany, and Mikel Merino’s last-
minute header secured Spain’s victory, to meet France in the Semi finals of theEuropean Championship 2024.
