Atletico Madrid are looking for an exit route for Joao Felix again this summer, and if they get their way, it will be permanent.
However, it is doubtful whether they can find a proposal that satisfies both the club and the player.
It was revealed this week that Benfica are interested in bringing Felix back this summer, with offers to be detailed.
However, Mateo Moreto has revealed to Futbol España that the extent of the talks are inquiries from the Portuguese giants through Felix’s agent.
Ultimately, Felix is interested in joining Barcelona and wants to return to the club he supported as a boy and prove himself under Hansi Flick.
Similarly, Barcelona will also try to bring him back on loan from Atletico.
Aston Villa have also been credited with an interest in the 24-year-old, but Benfica and Villa, and possibly Atletico, would need to be convinced to make the jump to stand any chance of signing him.
If he still believes that Barcelona will come back for him, his stance is understandable, but there are few certainties for Barcelona in the transfer market right now.
Benfica have inquired and asked agent Jorge Mendes about Joao Felix, but to act beyond the enquiry. Atleti looking to sell first before loan. Now the player’s first priority is Barcelona. Mendes is trying to move the case forward.
