A photo of FC Barcelona idol Lionel Messi “blessing” baby Lamine Yamal in the late 2000s has gone viral.
On Lamine Yamal’s father’s Facebook page, fans found old photos posted in 2011.
Lamine Yamal’s father, Monir Nasroi, captioned the photo, “The beginning of two legends.”
It shows a young, long-haired and smiling Messi, who would have been in his 20s at the time, cradling baby Lamine as Yamal’s mother bathes him in a plastic tub filled with bubbles.
Furthermore, the dates also line up – Leo got the haircut in the photo in 2007, the exact year Yamal was born.
Viewers of the photo left comments saying Messi was “blessing” the youngster and “handing over his powers” to the 16-year-old, who made his FC Barcelona debut aged 15.
