Manchester City Crush Liverpool 3-0 in Premier League Clash

Manchester City comfortably defeated Liverpool 3–0 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, cutting Arsenal’s lead at the top of the Premier League to four points and marking Pep Guardiola’s 1,000th match in management with a dominant performance.

Erling Haaland opened the scoring with a towering header after earlier seeing his penalty saved by Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Nico Gonzalez doubled the advantage just before halftime with a deflected strike, and Jeremy Doku sealed the win with a superb curling effort midway through the second half.

Liverpool briefly believed they had equalised when Virgil van Dijk headed home from a corner, but VAR ruled the goal out for offside interference by Andy Robertson. This moment shifted momentum firmly in the City’s favour.

Arne Slot’s side struggled throughout, managing only one shot on target until the closing stages. Substitutes Cody Gakpo and Milos Kerkez added energy, but the attack remained disconnected, with forwards Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz receiving limited service.

City, meanwhile, were ruthless and composed, controlling possession and exploiting spaces with ease as Doku and Nunes caused constant problems.

The win keeps Guardiola’s team firmly in the title chase, while Liverpool’s fourth away league defeat in recent weeks intensifies pressure on Slot amid an inconsistent domestic run.
