Liverpool Close to Signing Milos Kerkez After Final Round of Talks with Bournemouth

Liverpool are on the verge of signing highly-rated left-back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, with final-stage talks set to finalise a deal. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, personal terms were agreed between Liverpool and the Hungarian defender last week, and discussions between the two clubs are now in the final stages.

The deal is expected to be worth an initial £20-25m, with performance-related add-ons potentially rising to £42m. Personal terms have already been agreed between the Reds and the Hungary international.

The move is seen as part of Liverpool’s plans to refresh their defensive options under head coach Arne Slott, who has prioritised adding youthful energy and tactical versatility to the squad. The deal follows the £29.5m signing of right-back Jeremy Frimpong, which has been linked with a move away from Liverpool in the summer.

Romano reports that talks between Liverpool and Bournemouth have progressed significantly over the past week, with both clubs hopeful of reaching a full deal soon. Liverpool are believed to be offering a fee in the region of £20-25m for the player, although the exact structure of the deal – including possible add-ons – is still being negotiated.

An announcement is expected before Kerkez joins the Hungarian national team for the upcoming friendlies, capping a swift and decisive move by Hughes and Slott to secure the cornerstone of Liverpool’s defensive future.
