Late Bellingham Equalizer Rescues Real Madrid in Dramatic Elche Draw

In a La Liga clash at the Estadio Martinez Valero, Jude Bellingham’s late goal saved Real Madrid from twice coming from behind to snatch a point from defeat.

Real Madrid drop points for the third game in a row after a 2–2 stumble against Elche. They’re still on top of La Liga, but only one point ahead of Barcelona.

The two teams set up a second-half spectacle after a goalless first period. Alex Fabas broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute, completing a clever backheel assist from German Valera.

Real Madrid got their answer in the 78th minute when Dean Huijsen equalised from a loose ball from a corner. The assist came from Jude Bellingham, who had won the early header.

Elche, however, went back in front six minutes later. Substitute Alvaro Rodriguez, a former Real Madrid youth player, fired a powerful left-footed shot from the edge of the box that beat goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Jude Bellingham became Real Madrid’s saviour in the 87th minute, tapping in from close range after good work from Kylian Mbappe to make it 2-2.

The game ended with ten men in stoppage time after Elche’s Victor Chust was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for pulling Mbappe’s shirt.
